I have often thought I should receive an award for services to the french language. I'm sure Le brad, la jessica, le thomas, L'Anita, le betsy and all my other french buddies will agree with me here. For those wishing to learn french, I have compiled a list of handy phrases, along with pronounciation advice. I have neglected all rules of grammar, as they just obstruct my advanced lingustic mind. Please note that upon translation from English to French, certain phrases may not totally make sense. But I'm sure you can live with that.

| I'm Jacques Chirac, (the french president.) | Je m'appelle Jacques Chirac | If this is said in a convincin french voice, then who knows? You may be believed to be the man himself. |
| I live in a bin | J'habite dans une poubelle | Of course this is also the phrase for "I live in a certain deprived seasidetown with the highest teenage pregnancy and unemployment rate but its ok 'cos the council have plans to build a couple of new casinos which will certain help this area" |
| I fancy you. | Je t'aime | For those times you meet the girl/boy of your dreams when camping on holiday, and all you can say to them is, "Where are the toilets?" and "What time is it?" |
| I am here. | Je suis la. | Just for when you really feel like stating the obvious. In french. |
| Shut up | ferme la! | This is very very rude. Don't believe me? See how L'Anita would react if you said it to her after she asked you to read out a passage in french. Just make sure I'm there! |
Next week...........Conjuctives and Superlatives in the conditional tense, focusing more specifically on -ir verbs, and the formation of them when using negatives. As le brad will know, this is the area in which I have a huge amount of knowledge.
