Why do I need Jesus?
An entire website could be devoted to the answer of this question. I will try and answer it as quickly as possible without skipping over important bits. Take a good look at the following picture:
Jesus loves you so much, he died on the cross for you. And when he died, our sin died with him.
Yeah yeah, you say. Heard it all before have you? If you have heard it, you will know why you need Jesus, or at least you should have. God is righteous, we are not, ergo we should die. But thanks be to Jesus! Through his death, we are made acceptable to the Father God!
This may seem hard to understand, and is a bit weird to get your head round. Just think about it like this:
When Jesus died, He took your sin with Him. When He rose from the dead, He left the sin behind, in hell.
If you accept Jesus as Lord, your sins are washed away, and you are made acceptable to the Father. Therefore you will live eternally wih Him.
Those of you that know me, Ben, Sam, or indeed any other Christians will now understand why we are all so happy all the time; our sin was nailed to the cross of Jesus, and now we have the gift of eternal life. Praise the Lord!
